This #ThrowbackThursday is going way, way back. Looking at the face of that little baby, you would never know that bones and tissue in both legs were malformed and I was missing bones and numerous toes. I was living in the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children, where I grew up for seven years, about four … [Read more…]
It’s #ThrowbackThursday, going back to killing time before a flight at an airport. It’s no secret I’m an animal lover and you’ve seen me interacting with plenty of creatures here, but giant bears are one that I think I’ll stay away from, other than the friendly (aka plush) versions, like this guy I met in … [Read more…]
#ThrowbackThursday to a sunny day on the balcony of a cruise ship. Cruise ships are so interesting, because you get a taste of so many destinations and cultures in a short time. I believe that my journey to Self awareness has led to a greater appreciation and curiosity for other cultures.
The ocean is a fascinating thing, especially the way that tides wash away everything from the day and give a clean slate for tomorrow. Connect with your Self to help clear away the footprints from yesterday and to approach each day with a fresh start.
#ThrowbackThursday to a February day eight years ago. Snow like this is a rare sight for Victoria, BC. There are a lot of things in life that can really throw us for a loop, including surprise weather, but our own actions and reactions don’t have to be unpredictable. #ThrowbackThursday to the day I took my boat out fishing for the first time. I love being out on the water. I don’t go fishing often, and when I do, I catch a lot of minnows. But some memories stick with you forever, and this fish on that day are etched in my memory. I … [Read more…]
#ThrowbackThursday to back when I lived right on the ocean and used to wake up to see ships just outside my window. There is something fascinating about the ocean. Like human emotions, the ocean can change on a dime – from calm and soothing to wild and scary in an instant. People who spend a … [Read more…]
#ThrowbackThursday to last year, when I was able to visit some relatives in Ireland. They shared with me this photo of the original family homestead in Ireland. It’s quite something to see your heritage and be able to connect with a past that goes further back that I do!
#ThrowbackThursday to almost exactly three years ago. Bentley (who you met as a little pup last week) is now an amazing dog. This was a beautiful January day, when we enjoyed a hike through Michael Douglas Park in Santa Barbara, CA.
I am definitely an animal lover. Maybe it’s because I love caring for creatures who need our help, and who in turn, love us unconditionally. Today I’m throwing it back to the day I met little Bentley, around six and a half years ago. Needless to say, he’s not so little anymore!
